This 3' x 6' Lightweight honeycomb table may be purchased in thicknesses of 8", 10" or12". Thicker cores add stiffness to the table while reducing core thickness marginally reduces the weight of the breadboard. Likewise for cost savings, this table can be purchased with a standard 1" hole spacing, an economy 2" hole spacing or with no holes at all.
The aluminum skins are 0.125" (3mm) thick and add 0.250" (6mm) to the thickness of the entire breadboard. The skins are then coated with black anti-reflective polyurethane finish that is impervious to most chemicals. This finish absorbs more than 90% of light incident upon it, absorbs more than 95% of the energy in near perpendicular incidence and scatters grazing reflections to less than 5%.
Our tables are designed by optical researchers with experience in both academic and industrial laboratories. The design stresses functionality and performance at the lowest possible cost to the customer. Advanced materials and designs are used to provide increased vibration damping and decreased weights when compared to conventional breadboards and tables. The skins, core and final coating are manufactured separately and then assembled into the final unit permitting a wide variety of skins, cores and coatings to be used based on specific applications.
